Kim, who first debuted in 2009, had kept a low profile after being involved in a driving under the influence incident in May 2022
On Sunday, South Korean actress Kim Sae-ron was discovered dead at her Seoul home. The actress had been preparing a big return, which included a new movie project and a name change, according to a person close to her who spoke to Korea JoongAng Daily.
Speaking to Osen on Sunday, the acquaintance said that her unexpected death was “unimaginable” and expressed astonishment at her premature passing.
They revealed that Kim had been planning to operate a cafe and had been keen to get back into acting, especially after her appearance in Guitar Man. They couldn’t believe the terrible news, remembering how Kim had mentioned resuming her acting profession and earning money.
“We never imagined it would happen,” the acquaintance remarked. She claimed that after making a comeback with the movie Guitar Man, she would earn money performing once more. She was getting set to get back into showbiz while simultaneously preparing to launch a cafe. I still find it hard to believe. I urged her to call me if things got difficult because there were absolutely no symptoms.
After seeing Kim late last year, the acquaintance disclosed that she had changed her identity to Kim Ah-im and was getting ready to move. According to the person, there were no indications of trouble, and they had urged her to get in touch if she needed assistance.
Kim finished filming Guitar Man in November. The movie, which is presently in post-production, is about a guitarist who joins Volcano, an underground band.
Following her involvement in a driving under the influence incident in May 2022, Kim, who made her debut in 2009, had maintained a low profile. She was fined 20 million won in April 2023 after colliding with multiple lampposts and guardrails in Gangnam, Seoul. Because of the incident’s bad public perception, she had trouble finding new positions. Last year, she attempted to return in the play Dongchimi, but she pulled out because of health issues.
The actress was discovered by a friend at her residence on Sunday night, according to the South Korean police, who verified her death. There were no indications of foul play, they noted. She was 24 years old.
The actress gained notoriety for her portrayal of an abducted youngster rescued by a former special forces agent in the 2010 movie The Man from Nowhere. She won the Korean Film Awards’ Best New Actress prize for her performance, and she later received numerous more honors during her career.
