A number of airlines, including SpiceJet and Air India, have issued travel advice for its passengers in light of the terror assault in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir.

For flights to and from Srinagar, SpiceJet has extended its cancellation and rescheduling waivers through April 30. Tickets purchased prior to or on April 22 are subject to the condition.

SpiceJet is offering cancellation and rescheduling waivers for flights to and from Srinagar through April 30, 2025, in response to the tragic tragedy in Pahalgam. All reservations made on or before April 22 are covered by this. In light of the current circumstances, we are also running an extra aircraft from Srinagar to Delhi today in an effort to minimize customer disturbance. In their official statement, SpiceJet expressed their sincere sympathies with the victims, their families, and everyone impacted at this trying time.

To guarantee passenger affordability, Air India has regulated rates for flights from Srinagar to Mumbai and Delhi, per an advice released by the airline. Additionally, until April 30, 2025, Air India is providing passengers with confirmed reservations with free rescheduling and complete refunds for cancellations.

To guarantee affordability, Air India has capped the fares on its flights from Srinagar to Delhi and Mumbai. Higher cabin classes or multi-stop routes that offer a combination of direct and indirect alternatives may be the cause of any high fares displayed on booking websites. We’re still determined to help every passenger during this period. Additionally, we are providing free rescheduling and complete refunds for cancellations to travelers with confirmed reservations on certain sectors through April 30, 2025,” the notification stated.

Flight prices have skyrocketed, presumably due to high demand, forcing tourists who are stuck in the Kashmir valley following the Pahalgam terrorist assault to pay a substantial sum of money to return to their hometowns. Following the announcement of the terrorist assault on Tuesday night, airfares to major Indian cities have increased dramatically.

Searches on airline operators’ websites either reveal high ticket costs or show that all available seats are taken. Messages like “all flights are too close to departure,” “sold out,” or “unfortunately, there are no flights available” will appear to anyone attempting to purchase a ticket for today.
