Delta Plane Crash: According to the paramedic service, everyone injured, including those with minor injuries, were transported to surrounding hospitals via ambulance or helicopter.
A Delta Air Lines jet carrying 80 passengers crashed at Toronto’s main airport on Monday, resulting in at least 18 injuries and no fatalities. Endeavor Air Flight 4819, with 76 passengers and four staff, was scheduled to land in Canada’s largest city in the afternoon after flying from Minneapolis, Minnesota, according to the airline. There has been no explanation provided for the reason of the accident or how the jet ended up overturned with its wings clipped.
“It is extremely early on. It is extremely crucial that we do not guess. “What we can say is that the runway was dry, and there were no crosswinds,” said Todd Aitken, airport fire chief.
He stated that 18 individuals were injured in the collision, with no deaths.
Earlier, paramedics informed AFP that three individuals were critically injured: a kid, a man in his sixties, and a woman in her forties. Lawrence Saindon of the paramedic services reported that all of the wounded, including those with minor injuries, were transported to surrounding hospitals by ambulance or helicopter.
Dramatic footage on local television and social media showed individuals crawling away from the upside-down CRJ-900 airliner, covering their faces from powerful gusts of wind and snow.
Firefighters seemed to douse the aircraft with water as smoke billowed from the fuselage and passengers exited the jet.
Deborah Flint, CEO of the Toronto Airport Authority, told a news conference that no other planes were involved in the incident. She described emergency crews as “heroic” in their response, “reaching the site within minutes and quickly evacuating the passengers.”
Some of them “have already been reunited with their friends and families,” she stated.
After the incident, the airport suspended all flights, which resumed about 5:00 p.m. local time, more than two hours later. It warned passengers to expect lengthy delays.

Facebook user John Nelson, who claimed to be a passenger on the trip, released a video from the tarmac of the inverted aircraft, narrating: “Our jet crashed. “It is upside down.”
“Most folks appear to be fine. “We’re all getting off,” he explained.
Delta stated that the flight operated by its subsidiary Endeavor was “involved in an incident.”
“Initial reports were that there are no fatalities,” the airline said in a statement.
“The hearts of the entire global Delta family are with those affected by today’s incident at Toronto-Pearson International Airport,” Delta CEO Ed Bastian stated.
A huge snowstorm slammed eastern Canada on Sunday. Strong winds and bone-chilling temperatures continued to be felt in Toronto on Monday, as airlines increased flights to compensate for weekend cancellations due to the storm.
“The snow has stopped coming down, but frigid temperatures and high winds are moving in,” the airport warned earlier. It went on to say that they were “expecting a busy day in our terminals with over 130,000 travellers on board around 1,000 flights.”
Anita Anand, the federal transport minister, verified that there were 80 persons aboard the flight. “I’m closely following the serious incident at the Pearson Airport involving Delta Airlines flight 4819 from Minneapolis,” she shared with X.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford stated that he was “relieved there are no casualties after the incident.”
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada sent a team of investigators to the crash site.
They will be aided by the US Federal Aviation Administration, which has also dispatched a team to the location, according to US Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy.
The tragedy follows other recent flying incidents in North America, including a mid-air collision between a US Army helicopter and a passenger airplane in Washington that killed 67 people and a medical transport plane crash in Philadelphia that killed seven.
