A group of Wayanad Vijay enthusiasts started taking steps to establish a local TVK unit, which created the hype about a TVK Kerala unit.
There is a lot of talk about actor-turned-politician C Joseph Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) entering adjacent Kerala following back-to-back fan meetings in Palakkad and Wayanad, following a stunning political debut in Tamil Nadu.
This followed the formation of a local TVK unit last week by a group of Wayanad Vijay enthusiasts. According to reports, a gathering of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s supporters took place in Palakkad on Sunday.
Notably, under the auspices of Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam, which has since changed its name to TVK, Vijay has hundreds of fan clubs in Kerala that oversee various welfare programs. However, because members are awaiting instructions from TVK authorities in Tamil Nadu, the group has not yet formally established as a political party in the state.
Vijay’s supporters in Kerala staged enormous celebrations throughout the state on his swearing-in. According to the Deccan Herald, a large number of ladies and children attended TVK’s meeting in Palakkad and Wayanad.
TVK cadres in Kerala are hopeful that the party will gain public support in the state. According to reports, a number of Vijay supporters are waiting for a formal announcement made by a political party.
With 108 seats won in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly election, the TVK became the largest party and formed an alliance with the CPI, CPI(M), IUML, and VCK to establish a government. This marked a significant change in the political landscape of the state. Even though the TVK Kerala unit hasn’t been formally announced, a number of social media pages have appeared under its name.
Several TVK organisations have been aggressively mobilising in different Keralan districts, according to an article published in The Week. These include unofficial handles for “TVK Kerala Women’s Committee” and “TVK Kerala State Committee.”
These pages and organisations have amassed thousands of followers in Kerala over the weekend, indicating Vijay’s enormous fan following in the state, despite the lack of official confirmation. Some young people in adjacent Tamil Nadu are following the star-led leadership because of the Congress’s tardiness in choosing a Chief Minister.
