May 15 (Reuters): Within a day of boosting retail fuel prices for the first time since the start of the Iran war, India’s government said in a statement late on Friday that it has increased its export duties on petrol and decreased those on diesel and aviation fuel.

According to the announcement, the tariff on petrol exports has increased to 3 rupees ($0.0313) per litre, while the duty on diesel exports has decreased to 16.5 rupees per litre. Aviation fuel export taxes have been lowered to 16 rupees per litre.

Based on the average global pricing of crude oil, petrol, diesel and ATF over the time since the last review, the rates are updated every two weeks.
The current excise duty rates on fuel and diesel approved for home use have not changed.
$1 is equivalent to 95.9650 Indian rupees.
(The headline and paragraphs 1 and 2 of this article have been updated to reflect that export duties on diesel and aviation fuel have been reduced rather than increased, but those on petrol have been increased.)
