From new retreats in Lapland and the Mediterranean to rainforest adventures in the Republic of Congo, The PC Agency’s 2027 luxury travel edit puts nature, privacy and a sense of place at the heart of the journey.
Space and time are recurring themes in the agency’s selection for the year ahead. Alongside hotel openings, its collection highlights journeys that allow travellers to explore at a gentler pace, discover local food and spend longer celebrating with family and friends. For the travel trade, it offers ideas for building holidays around a particular interest or occasion, with the destination shaping the experience.
Arctic escapes shaped by nature
Finnish Lapland gains a new retreat as Arcora Boutique Hotel & Villas prepares to welcome guests from 14 December 2026 for its first winter season. Set in the lakeside village of Torassieppi, Muonio, north of the Arctic Circle, the property will offer 59 suites and villas alongside a spa, traditional saunas and a rooftop infinity pool. Drawing on more than 50 years of Harriniva family experience in the region, Arcora pairs Nordic design and seasonal dining with husky sledding, snowshoeing, reindeer encounters and Northern Lights excursions.
Further north, Basecamp Explorer opens up the landscapes of Svalbard through stays at Basecamp Hotel in Longyearbyen, Isfjord Radio Adventure Hotel and Nordenskiöld Lodge. The dark season offers opportunities to seek the aurora, while snow-based adventures include dog sledding and snowmobile expeditions. The brighter months bring a different Arctic experience, with glacier journeys, hiking and boat excursions shaped by long daylight hours. Choosing the season becomes as important as choosing the lodge.
New perspectives on African safaris
Tanzania’s Northern Safari Circuit will gain a new connection when British Airways launches its seasonal Gatwick service on 29 May 2027, flying to Kilimanjaro before continuing to Zanzibar and returning to London. The route creates another option for combining wildlife experiences with time on the coast.
In the Central Serengeti, Enduata Camps’ Wild Wakati Camp offers an intimate base with ten tents, including two family tents. Founded by Tanzanian guide Michael Shayo and British hospitality specialist Matt Wilkey, Enduata combines tents made in Tanzania with solar power, community recruitment and conservation contributions. As a member of The Long Run, it follows a framework built around conservation, community, culture and commerce.
In the Republic of Congo, Kamba Africa is adding another dimension to rainforest exploration. At Ngaga Lodge, in a concession just outside Odzala-Kokoua National Park, a new 70-metre canopy walk takes guests approximately nine to 13 metres above the forest floor. Guided nocturnal walks reveal the forest after dark, complementing western lowland gorilla tracking and offering time to observe the smaller details of life among the trees.
Norway at a slower pace
For travellers who want the journey to be part of the holiday, Expressions Holidays highlights Norway’s rail network as a focus for 2027. Its 14-night Grand Rail Tour of Norway connects Bergen, Flåm, Oslo, Trondheim and Bodø, taking in the Flåm Railway, Dovre Line and Nordland Railway. Fjord cruises, mountain scenery and time in historic cities give the itinerary variety without requiring a succession of short flights. The operator expects interest in individually tailored journeys combining rail, ferries and lesser-known stops to continue, with opportunities to explore beyond the most familiar European holiday routes.
New Mediterranean retreats
In Malta, Iniala Valletta’s Magistero Suites & Penthouses is due to open on historic Republic Street in 2027. The agency’s announcement describes a summer launch with 11 individually conceived suites designed by Imperfetto Lab, combining sculptural interiors and bespoke craftsmanship. Plans also include SiR by Simon Rogan, bringing a new dining concept to the city as Iniala expands its collection of distinctive places to stay and eat across Valletta.
On the Amalfi Coast, the edit also announces Treville Positano’s planned launch of Villa Maura in May 2027. The restored 17th-century villa will introduce five suites that can be reserved individually, while the whole property can be booked as a private residence with chef services. Connected to the wider hotel, it is designed for guests who value the independence of a villa alongside attentive hotel service, with space for families or friends travelling together.
Discovering Namibia through its food
OL Leisure brings Namibia’s food and hospitality into focus through experiences stretching from the bush to the Atlantic coast. At Midgard, a culinary school established with South Africa’s Olive Chef School is training a new generation of Namibian chefs. Mokuti Etosha’s SkyBoma serves Namibian-inspired dishes on an open-air platform eight metres above the ground, while Divava Okavango offers dining overlooking the river. On the coast, abalone raised by Hangana off Lüderitz reaches the table at Strand Hotel Swakopmund’s Ocean Cellar. Together, the experiences give travellers a way to explore Namibia through its ingredients, settings and the people developing its culinary offering.
Scottish castle stays and Tuscan wedding weekends
In Scotland, Glenapp Castle draws on the appeal of screen-inspired travel with an Austen-themed escape on the Ayrshire coast. Its Scottish Sensibility experience, available into March 2027, combines Regency afternoon tea, lawn games and candlelit dining with the atmosphere of a historic castle. Gardens, woodland and coastal scenery provide the setting for a stay that turns the romance of Sense and Sensibility into something guests can experience for themselves.
Celebrations take centre stage at Il Salviatino, a restored 15th-century villa in the hills of Fiesole overlooking Florence. Its 39 rooms and suites can be reserved exclusively, allowing a wedding to unfold over several days, from a terrace welcome dinner to a garden ceremony and an evening reception. Working with Tearose Weddings & Events and Giacomo al Salviatino, the property offers the setting and services for a shared Tuscan escape, giving couples and their guests time together beyond the wedding day.
