There is a little village in Andhra Pradesh called Lambasingi where you can get a glimpse of snow if you’re looking for a snowy adventure in South India. And count yourself fortunate if you are able to see Lambasingi snow!

South India is adored for its mouthwatering cuisine, stunning coastlines, rich Dravidian heritage, and much more. Snow, however, is one item that is never connected to South India. Only locations like Gulmarg, Nainital, and Manali come to mind when we think of snowfall in India. Although the southern region of India is known for being humid and arid, this isn’t always the case.

There is a little village in Andhra Pradesh called Lambasingi where you can get a glimpse of snow if you’re looking for a snowy adventure in South India. And count yourself fortunate if you are able to see Lambasingi snow!

Lambasingi is sometimes referred to as the “Kashmir of Andhra Pradesh” and is located slightly over 1,000 meters above sea level. Although it lacks the breathtaking Himalayas, it does have one special feature: the chance to witness a fanciful snowfall amid lush vegetation and colorful flowers.

Its altitude advantage is the cause of this. Because of its height, it produces a special atmosphere that can withstand temperatures as low as -2°C in the winter. The only location in the southern area to receive snowfall is Lambasingi, which is situated in the town of Chintapalli in Visakhapatnam.

There are a lot of tourist attractions there as well. Among these are the Kothapalli waterfalls, which will help you appreciate the splendor and might of the natural world. The waterfall plunges into a pool after tumbling over a sequence of rocks. Locals and tourists alike frequently gather here for picnics. You will be treated to a breathtaking view of a black and yellow susan flower garden en route to Lambasingi. You may see the most beautiful sunset here!

Although snowfall is unpredictable, your chances of seeing it are higher if you visit Lambasingi between November and January. The best aspect is that part of the charm is the travel itself, which includes the breathtaking countryside. Because it displays India’s distinct beauty and unanticipated surprises, Lambasingi is more than just a snowy wonderland.

Lambasingi is located 115 kilometers from Visakhapatnam Airport, the closest international airport. Another option is to go 72 kilometers by direct train to Anakapalle.
