Malaysia Airlines connects international travellers with Malaysia as Visit Malaysia 2026 grows

Malaysia Airlines is inviting international travellers to discover more of Malaysia as the country celebrates Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) with continued growth in international travel supporting the nation’s tourism ambitions. As the national carrier, Malaysia Airlines connects travellers with country’s diverse experiences through its extensive international and domestic network, while introducing them to Malaysia’s culture and flavours through its signature Malaysian Hospitality.

Malaysia Airlines flights depart from London Heathrow to Kuala Lumpur twice daily, providing convenient access to the capital and beyond. With its tropical climate year-round, vibrant cultural heritage, world-class attractions and a calendar of major international events, Malaysia offers travellers an array of experiences throughout the year. Among the highlights in 2026 is the return of Formula 1 to the Sepang International Circuit for the first time since 2017, with the circuit set to host the Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia from 2 to 4 October 2026.

Eligible international transit passengers can transform their stopover into an opportunity to discover more of Malaysia through the airline’s ‘Bonus Side Trip’ programme, which allows them to add an additional Malaysian destination to their itinerary, either on their outbound or return journey, at no extra fare – paying only the applicable taxes. From George Town’s UNESCO-listed heritage in Penang and Langkawi’s beaches and island scenery, to Kuching’s picturesque waterfront, charming streets and distinctive local cuisine, travellers can experience the diverse attractions and experiences of Malaysia beyond Kuala Lumpur.

The Malaysian experience begins onboard, where Malaysia Airlines brings local and regional favourites to the skies through its evolving in-flight dining experience. Across selected sectors, travellers can discover dishes featured under the airline’s Best of Asia menu, which celebrates the diverse flavours and culinary traditions of the region, alongside Best of Malaysia, a rotating menu series inspired by the culinary heritage of Malaysia’s different states. Eligible Business Suite and Business Class guests can also pre-order selected dishes through Chef-on-Call, alongside the airline’s signature satay and vegetarian satay. On selected services, premium-cabin guests can try the newly introduced Cendol Ice Cream, a twist on a classic Malaysian dessert, featuring silky coconut ice cream layered with cendol jelly and other refreshing toppings.

These form part of Malaysia Airlines’ broader commitment to delivering Malaysian Hospitality through ‘micromoments’ – small, thoughtful touches designed to make every stage of the journey more memorable. Guests can enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi connectivity across eligible aircraft, as well as generous baggage allowances, while younger travellers can be entertained with the Pilot Parker Activity Pack. These offerings help make the journey more seamless and enjoyable for travellers, whether travelling alone, with family or for business.
