JA Sports & Shooting Club Celebrates the Emirati Women Shaping the Future of Sport

Sport has the power to inspire generations, creating role models whose achievements extend far beyond the field of play. This Emirati Women’s Day, JA Sports & Shooting Club celebrates the remarkable Emirati women who have helped shape the nation’s sporting landscape, honouring the athletes whose determination, resilience, and ambition continue to redefine what is possible while inspiring the next generation of female sporting talent across the UAE.

Over the past two decades, increased investment in women’s sport, stronger pathways for athlete development, and greater opportunities to compete internationally have seen Emirati women achieve success across disciplines once considered out of reach. Today, they proudly represent the nation on global stages, break new ground in professional competition, and encourage more young girls than ever before to pursue their sporting ambitions. Their achievements embody the UAE’s wider vision of empowering women and creating opportunities for excellence across every sector of society.

Featuring a centrepiece cinematic film and a series of documentary-style athlete profiles, the campaign tells the stories of Emirati women whose journeys have shown what it truly means to compete at the highest level. Filmed entirely at JA Sports & Shooting Club, the series explores the dedication, resilience, and ambition behind their success while celebrating the legacy they continue to build for future generations. It is a tribute to the women who have transformed the sporting landscape in the UAE and a reminder that every champion inspires the next.

Among the athletes featured is Aisha Alawadhi, one of the UAE’s leading female padel players and a rising force on the international FIP Tour. Having become one of the first Emirati women to compete on the World Padel Tour and earn an International Padel Federation world ranking, Aisha has helped elevate the profile of Emirati padel while representing the UAE at international tournaments. Her rapid rise is down to her own determination and the emergence of a new generation of Emirati athletes competing confidently on the global stage.

Aisha Alawadhi, said, “Being one of the Emirati women competing internationally has been an incredibly meaningful journey. Every tournament, every challenge and every new milestone have shown me how much is possible when you believe in yourself and continue to push forward. I hope my journey encourages more young Emirati girls to pick up a racket, pursue their ambitions and believe that they too can compete at the highest level.”

Joining her is Nouf Al Anziv, captain of the UAE Women’s National Football Team and one of the country’s true football pioneers. As one of the first Emirati women to play professional football overseas, Nouf has spent years leading by example, representing the UAE internationally while helping inspire greater participation in women’s football. Alongside her story is that of Fatima Al Harthi, one of the UAE’s first professional female endurance riders. By breaking barriers within one of the nation’s most cherished sporting traditions, Fatima has become an influential role model for aspiring equestrian athletes, demonstrating that determination and perseverance can redefine what future generations believe is possible.

Nouf Al Anzi, said, “I feel incredibly proud to see the opportunities that now exist for women in football across the UAE. I want young girls to see what is possible, believe in their potential and take every opportunity to pursue their passion for the game. For me, being a role model means showing the next generation that there is a place for them in sport and that with determination, discipline and the right opportunities, they can achieve far more than they may imagine.”

Fatima Al Harthi, said, “Success is built on patience, resilience and the ability to keep moving forward, even when the journey is challenging. As an Emirati woman competing in a sport so deeply connected to our culture and heritage, I feel a strong responsibility to help inspire the next generation. I hope young girls see that they can honour our traditions while also creating their own path and reaching new heights.”
