Digvijaya Singh, the former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, had a face-to-face meeting with Rahul Gandhi on Sunday during the party’s Foundation Day festivities at Indira Bhavan. Their brief conversation quickly became a topic of discussion in party circles.

Sources claim that Rahul Gandhi jokingly said, “You misbehaved yesterday!” to Digvijaya Singh during their greeting. Those in the vicinity, including senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, laughed at the comment. After the official celebrations, party leaders had gathered for tea and snacks later in the day when the remark was made.

The humorous incident occurred one day after Digvijaya Singh’s social media remark caused discomfort within the Congress. Singh praised the organizational power of the RSS-BJP ecosystem on Saturday by sharing an old photo of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with BJP veteran Lal Krishna Advani ahead of a meeting of the Congress Working Committee.

Singh stated, “I found this picture,” in his post. It’s really amazing. How a Jan Sangh, BJP, and grassroots RSS volunteer who sat on the ground at the feet of leaders rose to become both the nation’s prime minister and the chief minister of a state. This is the organizational power. “Jai Siya Ram.”

Within the party, the post was criticized. In a scathing response, Congressman Pawan Khera stated that Gandhi’s organization did not require guidance from Godse’s organization. Digvijaya Singh stated after the uproar that his comments were restricted to recognizing organizational discipline rather than political ideas and that he vehemently opposes the philosophy of the RSS and Prime Minister Modi.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge seemed to subtly address the topic when speaking to party workers on Congress Foundation Day.

“Today, on Foundation Day, I want to make one thing clear: I want to tell those who say, ‘Congress is finished.'” Even if we are weaker, we still have a straight backbone. We have not given up on the Constitution, secularism, or the rights of the underprivileged. Even though we are not in charge, we won’t give in.

Additionally, Kharge emphasized that the Congress has never asked for votes on the basis of religion. “Hatred over temple-mosque issues has never been propagated by the Congress.” While the BJP splits, the Congress comes together. Congress preserved religion as a kind of faith, but some individuals have used religion as a political tool! The BJP is in power today, yet they don’t tell the truth. He said, “Congress is an ideology, and ideologies never die.”

On a day intended to commemorate the party’s past and ideals, the program showcased both internal conflicts and moments of unity.
