In reaction to the most recent bloodshed, Donald Trump declared that he was “absolutely” considering extending US sanctions on Russia.
Wasgington D.C.: Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, was referred to as “crazy” by US President Donald Trump on Sunday for carrying out one of the largest bombings against Ukraine since the war began. Any attempt to completely seize Ukraine, he further cautioned Moscow, would “lead to the downfall of Russia.”
“My relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin has always been excellent, but something has happened to him. He has completely lost his mind! He is murdering a lot of people needlessly, and I’m not just referring about soldiers. In a post on Truth Social, Trump claimed that drones and missiles were being launched into Ukrainian cities without any justification.
He wants ALL of Ukraine, not just a portion of it, and perhaps that’s turning out to be true, but if he does, it will bring about Russia’s destruction,” he continued.
Trump has previously praised Putin, but in recent weeks, he has become increasingly irritated with Moscow’s stance in the impassed peace talks with Kyiv. In a rare rebuke of Putin, the American leader earlier said he was “not happy” with him after Moscow killed 13 people in Ukraine with a record number of drone strikes.
“I disagree with Putin’s actions. Before boarding Air Force One headed for Washington, Trump stated, “I don’t know what the hell happened to Putin, and he’s killing a lot of people,” on the Morristown airport tarmac.
“I’ve known him a long time, always gotten along with him, but he’s sending rockets into cities and killing people, and I don’t like it at all.”
Zelensky Is Slammed by Trump
Additionally, the US leader chastised Volodymyr Zelensky, his Ukrainian counterpart, for “talking the way he does.”
“Everything out of his mouth causes problems, I don’t like it, and it better stop,” he stated.
Trump restated his assertion that if he had been president of the US at the time, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine would never have broken out.
“If I had been president, this war would never have begun. The war is not “Trump’s,” but rather Zelenskyy’s, Putin’s, and Biden’s. I am merely assisting in putting out the large, unsightly fires that have been sparked by blatant ineptitude and hatred,” he continued.
Russia Steps Up Attacks Against Ukraine
Russia’s assaults on Ukraine coincided with the two nations’ largest prisoner exchange since Moscow began its full-scale invasion in February 2022, in which each side returned 1,000 seized soldiers and civilian detainees. According to officials, two children, ages eight and twelve, as well as a seventeen-year-old, were killed in the most recent Russian strikes in the northwest district of Zhytomyr.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on social media that “this brutality cannot be stopped unless there is truly strong pressure on the Russian leadership.”

Following a two-hour phone conversation between Trump and Putin on Monday, the US president declared that Moscow and Kyiv would “immediately start negotiations towards a ceasefire.”
Putin has simply announced a nebulous plan to draft a “memorandum” detailing Moscow’s demands for peace, but he has not committed to stopping his three-year invasion of Ukraine.
