At every wedding, the bride is expected to draw the most attention, but last weekend in Venice, actress Sydney Sweeney was somewhat of a scene stealer.
When the recently single “The White Lotus” star was among the guests at Lauren Sánchez and Jeff Bezos’ four-day celebration, many were taken aback. The more fashion-conscious were focused on Sweeney’s selections, as millions watched her stroll around Venice with Karlie Kloss and Orlando Bloom.
According to reports, Sweeney attended the wedding because she is a part of the “Split Fiction” movie being produced by Bezos’ Amazon MGM Studios.
For the final event on Saturday night, a supper at the Arsenal, the blonde actress wore a special outfit designed by Galia Lahav. The Sweeney link continues to have a positive impact on the business. According to Yael Friedman, worldwide public relations manager for Galia Lahav, the eveningwear and bridal business announced on Tuesday that its e-commerce sales had increased by 200 percent in the last day. More than 80 people expressly asked Galia Lahav for Sweeney’s style, in both the original black and ivory.
During the rumored $50 million wedding weekend, the 27-year-old wore the body-hugging, floor-length gown to Saturday’s extravagant party. The actress from “Euphoria” worked with her stylist Molly Dickson to create the $25,000 custom strapless black lace design.
According to Friedman, the publicity caused a discernible increase in client appointments and social media activity. “This was an excellent example of how a striking, prominent appearance can increase brand awareness and desirability while also having a direct commercial impact,” she said.

“With a clear vision in mind,” Dickson contacted Friedman directly to inquire if the Galia Lahav team would be amenable to designing a unique style for Sweeney, according to Friedman. She teamed up with head designer Sharon Sever and Dickson to “bring the vision to life and design something truly special for such a high-profile celebration,” Friedman said, adding that she was “absolutely thrilled” about the opportunity to collaborate with Dickson, “especially for Sydney.” According to Friedman, that project involved over 150 hours of “meticulous couture work.”
Galia Lahav’s brand exposure has also increased thanks to Ivanka Trump, another wedding guest. At her sister Tiffany’s wedding in 2022, the first daughter wore a pale blue gown from the company that was modeled after Grace Kelly’s performance in “To Catch a Thief.” Trump, like Sweeney, attended the Sánchez-Bezos wedding in Venice wearing a black dress with no straps. However, she wore a Carolina Herrera dress to the wedding on Friday.
