Amid tensions between the two neighbors, Singapore has recommended its people to postpone any unnecessary trip to Pakistan and India’s Jammu & Kashmir.

On Wednesday, Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) advised tourists to use cautious, especially in areas near the Indian and Pakistani borders.

“Singaporeans in India and Pakistan are advised to remain vigilant and take all necessary precautions for personal safety, including avoiding large gatherings, monitoring local news closely, heeding instructions of local authorities, and eRegistering with MFA,” the ministry stated in a statement.

The April 30 alert, which only advised traveling to “high-risk areas” in Pakistan, has been updated with the most recent one.

Singaporeans in India and Pakistan can also seek consular help, the warning noted.

Singaporean travel businesses are reassessing trips to Pakistan and Jammu & Kashmir.

Travel has been hampered by the tension in the area; numerous Asian airlines have rerouted or cancelled flights, and over 50 flights to and from Pakistan have been canceled.
