Following the October 7 Hamas attack, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Britain, Canada, and Australia on Sunday for “rewarding terror” because the three nations recognized the Palestinian state.
He further declared that the Palestinian state will not exist “to the west of the Jordan River.”
“There will be no Palestinian state,” Prime Minister Netanyahu declared in a statement. After I return from the United States, I will respond to the most recent attempt to impose a terror state on our territory.
To the politicians who are recognizing a Palestinian state in the wake of the horrific October 7 tragedy, I have a simple message: You are rewarding terror with a huge prize. Additionally, I want to tell you that it will not occur. West of the Jordan River, there won’t be a Palestinian state,” he continued.
The Israeli prime minister pledged to keep growing Israeli settlements in the West Bank while restating his long-standing opposition to Palestinian statehood.
Despite intense pressure from both domestic and foreign sources, I have been preventing the establishment of that terror state for years. We have accomplished this with tenacity and wise leadership. Additionally, Netanyahu declared, “We have doubled the Jewish settlement in Judea and Samaria and we will continue on this path.”
Notably, Israel and the US have criticized Britain, Canada, and Australia for formally recognizing the Palestinian state today, joining other countries in an effort to revive support for a two-state solution.
“Today, to revive the hope of peace for the Palestinians and Israelis, and a two state solution, the United Kingdom formally recognizes the State of Palestine,” said UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer in a post on X.

“Canada recognizes the State of Palestine and offers our partnership in building the promise of a peaceful future for both the State of Palestine and the State of Israel,” Prime Minister Mark Carney said in a statement.

Anthony Albanese, the prime minister of Australia, said, “Today’s act of recognition reflects Australia’s longstanding commitment to a two-state solute, which has always been the only path to enduring peace and security for the Israeli and the Palestinian people.”

In order to build on today’s gesture of recognition and move the Middle East closer to enduring peace and security, he added, Australia will keep collaborating with its international allies.

International recognition of a Palestinian state this week, according to Palestinian Foreign Minister Varsen Aghabekian Shahin, is an irrevocable step that upholds the two-state solution and advances Palestinian independence and sovereignty.
