In Delhi’s 14 assembly seats, the number of voters has declined. Voters have dropped by thousands, and not by a thousand or two thousand. Voters have, however, grown in a few seats.

There are new stories emerging as Delhi’s election date draws nearer. According to the Aam Aadmi Party, the BJP is losing thousands of votes in numerous regions. On the other hand, the BJP claims that the Aam Aadmi Party is attempting to create phony votes. Both parties’ accusations have been denied by the Election Commission. However, compared to the 2020 assembly elections, the data indicates that fewer people cast ballots in at least 14 assembly constituencies. Nonetheless, the number of voters has unexpectedly increased in a number of seats. After the outcomes, it will be evident who will gain and who will lose from this.

The number of voters in the capital has abruptly changed. The 2020 assembly elections will see a change in the number of voters. Some regions have seen a significant drop in the number of voters, while other regions have seen a gain.A Firstpost report claims that 15,213 fewer people have registered to vote in the Laxmi Nagar assembly constituency this year than in the previous election. Laxmi Nagar had 2,21,651 voters five years ago, but this year there are just 2,06,438 Delhi residents registered to vote.In the same way, 10,437 fewer people will vote in the Rohini assembly seat this year than in 2020. There are now 1,72,542 voters in this area, down from 1,82,979. The Babarpur assembly seat is in a similar situation. This year’s voter registration is 699 lower than it was five years ago. Out of the 14 assembly constituencies, this is the lowest.

Where is the largest drop?

Delhi Cantt has had the largest drop. In the 2025 assembly elections, there will only be 78,893 voters remaining, compared to 1,29,338 in the 2020 assembly elections. This merely indicates that the number of voters who will choose the candidates will be 50,445 lower than in 2020. Next up is the Delhi assembly seat, where Parvesh Verma and Arvind Kejriwal are running. Only 1,09,022 voters will be eligible to cast ballots this year, compared to 1,45,901 voters in the 2020 assembly elections.

Here the number of voters has grown.

It is undoubtedly shocking that 14 out of 70 assembly constituencies have seen a decline in voter turnout. However, this is not all. Compared to 2020, there will be more voters in a number of assembly seats this time. For instance, there will be 44,432 more voters in the Okhla assembly seat this time. Meanwhile, 41,229 new voters have registered to vote in the Badarpur seat. There is no particular explanation for why the number of voters has increased or decreased. However, the results of the Lok Sabha elections indicate that urban voters appear to be uninterested in casting a ballot.
