Air India, IndiGo, and SpiceJet issued a flight advisory for commuters traveling to and from specific places in the country amid the current tensions between India and Pakistan after the Indian Army carried out precision attacks on Pakistani terror facilities.
Due to the current circumstances, Air India has suspended all of its flights to and from the following locations till 12 p.m. on May 7th, pending additional information from the relevant authorities: Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh, and Rajkot. Air India said on X that two international planes headed for Amritsar would be rerouted to Delhi.
Dharamshala (DHM), Leh (IXL), Jammu (IXJ), Srinagar (SXR), and Amritsar (ATQ) are among the Northern Indian airports that are closed until further notice. “There may be an impact on departures, arrivals, and subsequent flights,” SpiceJet stated in a statement on X.
“Our flights to and from Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Leh, Chandigarh, and Dharamshala are currently impacted due to changing airspace conditions in the region,” IndiGo wrote on X. “The current airspace restrictions also affect flights to and from Bikaner,” the airline stated in a separate bulletin.
As the Indian Army declared on ‘X’ after Operation Sindoor, “Justice is Served.” Days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi granted the military complete authority to respond to the terror assault in Pahalgam, the operation took place.
Early on Wednesday, Indian military forces launched missile strikes on nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, including Bahawalpur, a hotbed of the Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist group, in retribution for the horrifying Pahalgam slaughter, which claimed 26 lives.
The Defense Ministry claimed in a statement issued at 1.44 am that the military strikes were conducted as part of “Operation Sindoor.” According to the report, the Indian military has been “focused, measured, and non-escalatory in nature” in its efforts.
