After scoring 73 and 121 not out in the second and third games of the series in Australia, which India lost 2-1, Rohit Sharma is now the top-ranked ODI batsman.

After spending a significant amount of the previous ten years in the top ten, Rohit’s two knocks moved him from third place to the top for the first time in his career. Rohit’s points increased and he passed Shubman Gill and Ibrahim Zadran thanks to the century in particular.

After the three-ODI series in Australia, Axar Patel was awarded for his excellent all-around play, so Rohit wasn’t the only Indian cricketer to benefit. He contributed with scores of 31 and 44 in the first and second games, and he claimed a wicket in each of the three ODIs. He moved up four ranks to No. 8 on the all-rounders’ ranking and six spots to No. 31 on the bowlers’ table as a result.

After the first two ODIs against England, Mitchell Santner climbed three places to fourth place in the respective top 10, while bowler Josh Hazlewood climbed two slots to eighth.

In other news, Keshav Maharaj rose nine spots to a career-high rating and was ranked 13th on the bowlers’ list after Pakistan and South Africa shared a two-Test series. Simon Harmer, his teammate, took 13 wickets from the two Test matches and rose 26 ranks to No. 45, while Maharaj took nine wickets in the one Test he played.

The Test batters’ rankings also saw gains for South Africa’s Aiden Markram (up two ranks to 15th) and Tony de Zorzi (up seven places to tied 47th).
