In June, China will open the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge, which will be the highest bridge in the world and significantly cut down on the amount of time it takes to traverse a huge canyon.
The Metro reports that China will unveil the record-breaking Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge, which spans two miles across a huge canyon, in June. Travel time will be cut from an hour to only one minute thanks to the 216 million pound (Rs 2200 crore) investment. The bridge is a major engineering achievement, standing more than 200 meters taller and weighing three times as much as the Eiffel Tower.
“This super project spanning the “Earth’s crack” will showcase China’s engineering capabilities and boost Guizhou’s goal of becoming a world-class tourist destination,” stated Chinese legislator Zhang Shenglin.
China's Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge is set to open this year, becoming the world's tallest bridge at 2050 feet high.

Recent footage of the bridge has been released, showing crews putting on the finishing touches.
One of the most insane facts about the bridge is that… pic.twitter.com/DLWuEV2sXQ
Its steel trusses, which were put in place in just two months, weigh almost 22,000 metric tons, or three Eiffel Towers.
Li Zhao, the chief engineer, remarked, “Witnessing my work become something tangible – watching the bridge grow day by day and finally stand tall above the canyon – gives me a profound sense of achievement and pride.”
The new bridge will be a big tourist attraction in addition to offering essential transit linkages in a more rural part of China.
“Planners have also revealed plans for living areas, a glass walkway, and the ‘highest bungee jump’ in the world,” The Metro reports.
Because the bridge is nearly entirely hanging above the large gorge below, it is more striking.
Nearly half of the 100 highest bridges in the world are located in the area of China where this bridge is being constructed, and they serve to link rural villages.
China’s tallest bridge, which is 1,854 feet tall, was constructed in Beipanjiang in 2016.
