In response to recent claims of changes to Tatkal ticket booking hours, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has released an explanation.
The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has clarified that no such action was planned in response to recent claims that Indian Railways was overhauling its Tatkal ticket system beginning April 15.
This correction was brought about by a number of false social media posts that claimed that the Tatkal ticket booking time had changed for agents and both AC and non-AC classes.
Some posts are circulating on Social Media channels mentioning about different timings for Tatkal and Premium Tatkal tickets.

No such change in timings is currently proposed in the Tatkal or Premium Tatkal booking timings for AC or Non-AC classes.

What are the current timings?
IRCTC states that, with the exception of the day of departure from the train’s originating station, a Tatkal E-ticket may be purchased for a few trains one day in advance. On the day of opening, reservations can be made for the AC class (2A/3A/CC/EC/3E) starting at 10:00 IST and for the non-AC class (SL/FC/2S) starting at 11:00 IST. Notably, all classes—aside from First AC—allow Tatkal reservations.
What are Takal tickets?
Indian Railways offers Tatkal tickets as a last-minute booking option via the IRCTC app and website. A day before the trip, passengers can purchase Tatkal tickets, which are available at a modest premium and include a limited number of seats under the category.
How much passengers have to pay extra for Tatkal tickets?
In addition to the standard ticket price, Tatkal charges per passenger. Subject to minimum and maximum fees, the Tatkal charges have been set as a percentage of the fare at 10% of the base fare for second class and 30% of the basic fare for all other classes.
Cancellation charges
A confirmed Tatkal ticket cannot be canceled for a refund. However, fees are subtracted in accordance with current railway regulations for contingent cancellations and waitlisted Tatkal ticket cancellations.
