According to Axios, Kazakhstan is expected to sign the Abraham Accords, a fresh extension of the US-brokered normalization agreement with Israel. The action is intended to revitalize the accords as a framework for collaboration between Israel and Arab and Muslim-majority nations, according to the report, which cited a US government official.

According to a US official who spoke to Axios, Tokayev contacted the White House to convey his desire to include Kazakhstan in the agreements, indicating religious tolerance and seeking more regional collaboration.

In order to formally announce Kazakhstan’s admission, Trump and Tokayev are anticipated to speak with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during the meeting.

The US official went on to say that the administration intends to hold a formal signing ceremony at the White House, possibly with participation from additional nations interested in signing the agreements.

Although he did not mention Kazakhstan, Steve Witkoff, Trump’s special envoy for the Middle East, told the media that the US would announce a new nation joining the Abraham Accords on Thursday.

At the America Business Forum in Miami, Witkoff stated, “I’m flying back to Washington tonight because we’re going to announce, tonight, another country coming into the Abraham Accords.” “I don’t know if it’s out yet,” he said in response to the question of which nation it was.

In 2020, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Morocco normalized relations with Israel, establishing the Abraham Accords during Trump’s first term.

Although progress has paused because of ongoing tensions in the area, Trump has hinted that more nations, including Saudi Arabia, may follow in the future.
