As part of the House Oversight Committee’s inquiry into convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, former US President Bill Clinton pressed for a public hearing. Clinton referred to the entire session as “pure politics” in a string of social media tweets. Hillary Clinton, the former secretary of state, made the same demand earlier this week.
The House Oversight Committee, which is looking into Epstein’s sex trafficking ring and the prominent individuals in his inner circle, is scheduled to hear testimony from the Clintons later this month.
I have demanded that the Epstein data be released in their entirety. I’ve given a sworn declaration of my knowledge. Additionally, I consented to personally appear before the committee earlier last week. But for Republicans on the House Oversight Committee, it’s still insufficient,” Bill Clinton wrote on X.
Chairman Comer now claims that he wants cameras, but only in private. Who gains from this arrangement? Justice is not due to Epstein’s victims. Not the general population, who are entitled to the truth. Only partisan interests are served by it. This is just politics, not fact-finding.
I refuse to watch helplessly while a Republican Party running frightened uses me as a prop in a closed-door kangaroo court. We should stop the games and provide a public hearing so that the American people can see for themselves what this is truly about if they want answers,” he continued.
I have called for the full release of the Epstein files. I have provided a sworn statement of what I know. And just this week, I’ve agreed to appear in person before the committee. But it’s still not enough for Republicans on the House Oversight Committee.

What Clintons know about Epstein and his colleague Ghislaine Maxwell is being investigated by the committee. However, before prosecutors filed charges against Epstein, both Hillary and Bill Clinton stated that they were unaware that he was sexually abusing minors.
