Both Air India and IndiGo issued travel recommendations for passengers throughout the holiday season in an effort to lessen fog-related disruptions, such as decreased visibility that impacts aircraft operations. As services resumed as usual, the advisory asked for travelers’ patience.
In its Friday alert, Air India stated that it would continue to be watchful and take all necessary steps to minimize disruptions caused by fog. They pledged to work around the clock to minimize any disturbance and stated that they recognize the significance of their clients’ travel plans, particularly during this Christmas season.
The airline stated that flight operations would probably be impacted at Delhi, Amritsar (ATQ), Chandigarh (IXC), Lucknow (LKO), Varanasi (VNS), and Patna (PAT), with a knock-on effect throughout the network, due to the weather department’s forecast of dense fog conditions in Delhi and parts of northern and eastern India.
Air India offered a link for reference and stated that it had taken proactive steps to minimize interruptions.

The airline stated that its ground staff would be on hand around-the-clock to help passengers and make other arrangements in the event of delays or cancellations.
According to the advise, travelers who were booked on specific flights within the fog window would still receive advance alerts under the “FogCare initiative” and have the choice to request a full refund without incurring penalties or to reschedule flights without paying extra.
Before heading to the airport, they asked visitors to check the status of their flights on their official website.
The airline said that the safety and well-being of its passengers and crew continue to be its first concern and thanks the passengers for their patience and understanding.
In a similar vein, IndiGo advised travelers on Friday that flights to and from Chandigarh and Amritsar would be impacted by the dense fog that continued to drastically impair visibility.
“Travel Advisory Dense fog across #Chandigarh #Amritsar continues to significantly reduce visibility, impacting flight operations to and from these cities,” the company wrote on its official X account. Before heading to the airport, we advise checking the most recent flight status on our website or app: http://bit.ly/3ZWAQXd. Rest assured that as soon as conditions improve, our personnel will work closely to resume regular services. We value your understanding and patience, and we hope to have you join us as soon as visibility gets better.”
