After posting an unexpectedly positive assessment of his Vande Bharat Express journey, a German tourist in India went viral. His Instagram film, which has already received over 1.4 million views, drew contrasts between China’s and Japan’s sophisticated rail systems and India’s semi-high-speed train, garnering a tonne of praise from Indian viewers.
Alexander Welder, a traveler who has been recording his trip around the nation, posted a video titled “Taking a ride on India’s most modern train.” He and his partner show viewers their five-and-a-half-hour executive class excursion, which included a full lunch service and cost Rs 2,100 per person.
“Today, we’re traveling in executive class on the Vande Bharat, which is regarded as India’s most advanced train,” he says. He continues, “I’m going to show you what the experience is like.”
The rotating seats that can be adjusted to face the windows particularly appeal to Welder, who calls them a “game changer” for tourists who appreciate picturesque journeys. He also observes that the overhead storage is remarkably spacious.
He notes that the train has both Indian and Western-style restrooms, which is another unexpected surprise. “This luggage is insanely big, but it still fits comfortably,” he says.
He receives a free water bottle within minutes of arriving, along with soup, snacks, and eventually a cooked meal that includes chapati, a variety of curries, rice, vegetables, and even ice cream. “The ticket also included food. He asks, clearly taken aback by what the ticket offers, “How crazy is that?”
“Five and a half hours,” he says matter-of-factly at the end of the journey. Each person pays Rs 2,100. Additionally, every meal was covered.
Since then, the film has been shared on a number of channels, and many Indians have praised Welder for showcasing a contemporary but frequently disregarded aspect of the nation’s railway network.
“It has been 78 years since India gained independence, yet only today has a world-class train service been launched,” a commentator remarked. I’m glad to see it.
“I love it when our guests from around the world enjoy our facilities to the extent of whatever is offered,” another person remarked. “Atithhi Devo Bhavah!”
“Everyone will talk about India’s greatness and prosperity now and in the future,” said a third viewer. “Nation First, Everything Else Comes Next” is our guiding principle. Everything is going fine under Modi Sarkar. We offer him our complete support and pray for him. “Bharat Mata Ki Jai!”
“Finally saw a rich foreigner who can afford Vande Bharat,” someone another joked.
