In order to determine the top 100 urban powerhouses in the world, Resonance Consultancy’s 2026 World’s Best Cities Report assessed over 270 cities. The list captures everything from economic strength and cultural vigor to liveability and long-term appeal by combining hard statistics with firsthand observation.
For the eleventh year in a row, London has maintained its title as the greatest city in the world. India has its own cause for celebration: Bengaluru, which came in at number 29, is known for its thriving IT sector, verdant regions, family-friendly attractions, and an ever-improving dining and retail scene.
Three other Indian cities—Mumbai, Delhi, and Hyderabad—that reached the worldwide list are also highlighted in the report for their distinct advantages.
Bengaluru, India’s Silicon Valley, Ranks 29
Bengaluru, sometimes referred to as the “Silicon Valley of India,” is still firmly established on the global map. According to the survey, the city strikes a balance between work and lifestyle in addition to being a tech powerhouse. The city’s tech identity is only one aspect of it.
Nature-rich and family-friendly
Thanks to attractions like Wonderla’s exhilarating rides and Bannerghatta’s wildlife zone, Bengaluru is ranked #1 in the world for family-friendly attractions. Additionally, it ranks #4 in Nature & Parks, which is a remarkable accomplishment for a city that is expanding so quickly.
A Global Center for Food and Retail
Bengaluru also excels in the food sector, ranking #3 in the world for restaurants. Both residents and visitors are drawn to the city’s culinary scene, which features everything from contemporary kitchens throughout Indiranagar to traditional seafood in Karavalli.
The variety of shopping is equal. Bengaluru, which ranks sixth in this category, has everything from the expansive Phoenix Mall of Asia to high-end brands in UB City.
The city is ranked #1 for Sights & Landmarks because architectural icons Vidhana Soudha and Bangalore Palace continue to dominate travelers’ social media feeds.
Improved Communication
The recently opened Yellow Line, which improves city connectivity and helps Bengaluru rank #19 overall in the Lovability index, is a significant improvement that is included in the study.

Bengaluru is not the only Indian city in the world’s Top 100. Three additional cities have received recognition for their growing attractiveness on a global scale.
Mumbai: 40th place
India’s financial capital receives great marks for its drive, aspirations, and continuous infrastructural expansion. Its vibrant neighborhoods, architectural icons, and cultural diversity help it achieve an outstanding #3 ranking for Sights & Landmarks.
Delhi: 54th place
The capital is notable for fusing a modern economic focus with a historical heritage. Delhi continues to rank in the world’s Top 5 for Sights & Landmarks because to sites like Qutub Minar, Humayun’s Tomb, the Red Fort, and Akshardham.

Delhi’s expanding public areas and riverside promenades help it rank #10 for family-friendly attractions. In the Lovability index, it comes in at number 23 overall.
Hyderabad: 82nd place

Laad Bazaar’s jewelry lanes are still anchored by the Old City’s Charminar, which contributes to the city’s #20 shopping ranking. Mecca Masjid and Golconda Fort, meanwhile, guarantee Hyderabad’s solid #2 rating for Sights & Landmarks.
