At a Tuesday, May 13 Annual Town Council Meeting, Raj Mishra was elected as the town’s sixth mayor.
Raj Mishra has traveled far from Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh to the UK. Mr. Mishr, the son of a farmer, was chosen to be the new mayor of Wellingborough. Wellingborough is a market town in the East Midlands region of Northamptonshire, England.
In the local elections held on May 6, the 37-year-old won. At a Tuesday, May 13 Annual Town Council Meeting, he was elected as the town’s fifth mayor.
Raj Mishra is who?
He is his parents’ sixth child. Raj Mishra, a native of Bhatehara, Uttar Pradesh, studied computer science for his M Tech in London. Additionally, he is certified in “Data Science” by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Mr. Mishra has 15 years of expertise in the IT field, according to his LinkedIn profile. He made the decision to enter politics and run as a councilor in the municipal council elections.
For his 2025–2026 tenure, Conservative Party member Mr. Mishra has selected the Veterans Community Network and Louisa Gregory’s Hospice Campaign as charities.
After obtaining UK citizenship, Raj Mishra wed Abhishekta, an engineer from Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh. The pair has two daughters.
Raj Mishra will serve as an important figure and public representation in his role as mayor. Among his duties are chairing council sessions and liaising between the council and the neighborhood. Mr. Mishra has selected the Veterans Community Network and Louisa Gregory’s Hospice Campaign as his two charities for the 2025–2026 term. Mr. Mishra will seek to increase these organizations’ visibility and draw in money and support for their initiatives. He will serve a one-year term.
Mr. Mishra is committed to making sure that the various needs and goals of the community are reflected in Wellingborough’s government. He promoted a four-point plan for the town, supporting infrastructure investment, community involvement, environmental sustainability, and economic development. Mr. Mishra has pledged to enhance public facilities, assist neighborhood companies, draw in capital for the town’s economy, put eco-friendly projects into action, and provide forums for citizens to take an active role in decision-making.
