In his goodbye speech, outgoing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau emphasized unity, democracy, and economic resiliency while urging supporters to remain involved in the nation’s future. He urged more Liberal activism and reminisced on his time there.
On Monday, departing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke to supporters on stage, offering his thoughts on his term and encouraging them to continue to be involved in the nation’s future.
Speaking to members of the Liberal Party, Trudeau said he was proud of his tenure. “I’m really proud of what we’ve accomplished over the last ten years, don’t get me wrong,” he remarked. He went on to say, “But tonight is about our future as a party, as a nation.”
After more than nine years in office, Trudeau announced his resignation in January. His support rating plummeted, which prompted the ruling Liberal Party to quickly schedule a leadership vote.
As difficulties arise, Canadians are demonstrating their beliefs, according to Trudeau, who spoke of a need to guarantee Canada stays strong. The audience applauded his comments.
He talked about Canada’s diversity and its place on the international scene after switching to French. Returning to English, he discussed economic issues while subtly mentioning the policies of US President Donald Trump. He declared, “We are a nation that will fight when we have to, elbows up.”

Trudeau urged his followers to stay involved. “Perhaps more than ever, your country needs you,” he added. “Liberals will come together now.” He called the current period a “nation-defining moment,” and he added that democracy and freedom demand sustained work. “It requires bravery, selflessness, optimism, and diligence,” he stated.
He asked the audience to concentrate on the future as his address came to a close. He said, “Let’s not get bogged down in all the wonderful things we’ve accomplished in the past ten years.” “Instead, let’s motivate ourselves to accomplish even more in the upcoming ten and twenty years.”
He urged togetherness as he concluded. “Let us continue to be firm, defiant, and unified. Let’s show our love for our nation instead of simply thinking about our party.
The audience yelled his name as he walked off stage.
